Loading computers
After years of experience in the marine industry, Coastdesign has developed a state of the art loading computer that will revolutionize the way you work. By using Hydro, you will make sure your vessel complies with any stability regulations in a precise and intuitive way.
The software is created in close collaboration with ship owners, crew members, and other industry stakeholders, which was the key to ensuring an intuitive and seamless user experience. This ensures a maximum level of safety for the vessel, crew, and cargo.
Hydro is designed to be both user-friendly, reliable, and accurate!
Hydro key features
Here are some of the key functions of our loading computer:
Real-time Stability Evaluation
Hydro will give the user an overview of the weight and load onboard, and how it may affect ship stability. Specifically, it will monitor the current condition sent by sensors onboard the vessel.
Whether vessel stability is checked by direct stability calculations or predefined stability curves, the results will instantly be available to the user on-screen.
Simulations
The loading computer may also be used to simulate future operations. If so, the operator will get an accurate presentation of how cargo, ballast, fuel, and other weight might affect ship stability. Perfect for anyone planning a new operation at sea!
Special Operations
The instant stability check is not limited to the intact or damage criteria, but for any special operation that is defined for the vessel (e.g. anchor handling, fire fighting, towing, etc.). With its flexible new code, Hydro may calculate stability according to all relevant regulations on the fly.

Real-Time Floating Status
Hydro provides instant updates on the vessel's floating status, displaying current values and alerts. This feature ensures you always have up-to-date stability information for quick decision-making and efficient operations, enhancing safety across all vessel activities.
Load Control
Through the Load Control feature, users can manage and adjust tank and weight loads, as well as interact with cargo on deck, cranes, and other loads encountered during various operations. This comprehensive control ensures that all changes directly impact the vessel's status and stability, allowing for precise management and optimization of vessel performance under diverse conditions. Users can simulate various scenarios, adjusting ballast, monitoring stability changes, and analyzing the effects of different loading conditions to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Load Sequence and Load Assist
Load Sequence tool lets you quickly produce steps in the loading sequence, such is ballasting or crane operation. Coupled with the Load assist function, where user can define target floating status and tanks used to achieve this, it is a powerful tool for planning purposes. You can create a animation, too!
Sensor Interface
Hydro can interface with a vessel's IAS system, receiving data from sensors such as tank loads, drafts, mooring weights, crane loads, positions, and other factors that influence vessel loading and stability. Hydro supports various protocol types, including Modbus, OPC, UlsteinSQL, and many more.

Special Operations
Hydro offers stability calculations and simulations for a variety of specialized operations, including anchor handling, heavy crane lifting, submerging and much more. Discover different types of vessels by checking out the links below!
